According to the report, being in one of the tactical directions, Andriyan Ivanov’s self-propelled artillery platoon with howitzers attacked the manpower and military equipment of Ukrainian neo-Nazis. At some point, Bandera returned fire, and the Russian gunners began to change position.
At that time, information was received from the command post that the Nazis had concentrated large forces to attack the flank of the Russian units.
Instantly assessing the situation, Andriyan Ivanov requested the coordinates of the group preparing to break through the defenses on the flank, quickly organized the aiming of guns at the target and opened fire with all combat weapons. As a result, a large number of manpower and five units of Bandera military equipment were destroyed. An attempt by the Nazis to launch a flank attack was thwarted.
“The bold and decisive actions of Senior Lieutenant Ivanov, as well as the professionalism of his subordinates, made it possible to repel the enemy attack and hold the line of defense.”the department said.
Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to carry out a special military operation to protect Donbass in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR. The objective of the operation is the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.
