The combined team of the Department of the Russian Guard from Adygea won bronze in the team event at the championship of the Southern District of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation in judo, the press service of the Office of the Federal Service of The National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Adygea reported on February 27.
Military formations and units from the Krasnodar Territory, Astrakhan, Volgograd, the Rostov regions, the Republics of Adygea, Kalmykia and Crimea took part in the competition. The total number of participants was more than 140 National Guard members in 21 teams.
In the team classification, the team of the Main Directorate of the Russian Guard of the Republic of Crimea won first place, and the team of the Main Directorate of the Russian Guard of the Krasnodar Territory took second place.
In the individual competition, prizes were determined in seven weight categories, in weight up to 66, 73, 81 and 100 kg. The military personnel of the Adygea police captain Asker Shafizhev took third place in the weight category up to 100 kg, police lieutenant Adam Meretukov – third place in the weight category up to 90 kg.
The championship was held at the Center for Martial Arts named after the Hero of Russia Gennady Troshev in Armavir, lasted three days. The winners and awardees received cups, medals and certificates.
