Authorities said on Tuesday that at least one “drone” crashed near “civilian infrastructure” in the Russian city of Kolomna, Moscow region, as well as in other regions of its territory.
Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov said the incident took place “near the village of Gubastovo” and added that “the target was probably civilian infrastructure”, although there were no reports of casualties or property damage.
The Russian Defense Ministry also accused the Kiev regime of “an attempt to use unmanned aerial vehicles to strike civilian infrastructure in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea.”
“The drones were eliminated by the electronic warfare units of the Russian Armed Forces,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Russian military authorities reported that the “drones” lost control and deviated from the flight path, specifying that “one of them fell into the field, and the other did not reach civilian infrastructure.”
Ukraine has not yet claimed any responsibility for these incidents.
Hours before the drone crash, St. Petersburg’s Purovo Airport briefly suspended operations due to an “unidentified object,” according to emergency services, adding that two fighter jets had been deployed to the area.
The initial decision was to close the airspace within a 200-kilometer radius around Pulkovo Airport, which resulted in the diversion of several flights.
The mayor of the Russian city of Belgorod, Valentin Demidov, confirmed the evacuation of the skyscraper after “a drone entered through an apartment window.”
In recent months, Russia has condemned several drone attacks on airfields and other facilities on its territory, especially in areas close to the border with Ukraine.
