The remains of Diego Barria, a 32-year-old man who went missing on February 18 in Argentina, was found inside a shark by a local fisherman.
“I cut open the shark and found the forearm,” said the fisherman.
According to the Spanish newspaper WorldDiego Barria’s family identified him by a tattoo on his forearm.
“We assume that Diego was in an accident and we are investigating whether a car was involved,” said Daniela Millatrus, who was in charge of the search, a police officer quoted by the newspaper.
The remains will also be subjected to DNA testing to officially confirm that they belong to Diego Barria, Comodoro Rivadavia police chief Cristian Ansaldo said in an interview with local media.
Authorities believe the man had an accident and was dragged out to sea.
The case continues to be investigated.
