The Rostov region retains its leading position in Russia in terms of turnover from retail trade, the press service of the regional administration reports on February 28.
“The consumer market of the Rostov region is one of the largest in the south of Russia and in the whole country. At the end of 2022, the turnover of retail trade in the region at current prices amounted to almost 1 trillion 309 billion rubles, approximately the same as the previous year.– emphasized the first deputy governor of the region, Viktor Goncharov.
He added that the catering turnover in 2022 amounted to 51.5 billion rubles. This is 11.3% more than in 2021. The volume of household services grew by 6.3% to almost 72 billion rubles.
Goncharov highlighted the development of online trade in the region. According to him, in the nine months of 2022, online sales amounted to 59 billion rubles, showing an increase of 15% compared to the same period in 2021.
Earlier it was reported that the number of markets in the Rostov region over the past 10 years has decreased by more than five times: out of 223 markets, only 42 remain. As Igor Burakov, chairman of the economic policy committee of the regional legislative assembly This, he noted, was due to excessive administrative and other restrictions imposed by federal law.
