Complaining that her school district’s “rules and laws” didn’t help keep student information secret from “Christo-fascist” parents, a public school teacher in Washington state tweeted on February 24.
The teacher’s comment was a response to a Twitter post by a user of The Principle’s Office: “Parents, please check your school district’s policy on maintaining the privacy of your child’s information. There are some scary rules. Schools should not have the right to withhold information about your child from you unless he is suspected of child abuse.”.
Karen (Kelly) Love, a teacher with the Auburn School District, responded to the post by writing: “I couldn’t agree more with this. Many students in this country are not protected from their fascist Christian parents. And our rules and laws don’t allow it.”.
Ian Pryor, senior counsel at American First Legal, took a screenshot of the exchange and posted it on the platform, stating: “A teacher in Washington state believes schools don’t go far enough to keep secrets about their students. because they are not safe from their Christ fascist parents.
After Pryor’s post went viral, Love hid her Twitter posts and deleted her profile on other social media, including LinkedIn.
