In Montenegro, for the third year in a row, a negative natural increase is recorded, according to preliminary data from the Statistical Office – Monstat, on March 1, reports Radio and Television of the Republika Srpska.
Monstat data shows that 7,223 babies were born in 2019, 7,097 in 2020, 7,033 in 2021 and 7,008 last year.
In the same period, the number of deaths is increasing every year, so that in 2019 the number was 6,595 and last year it was 7,058.
Last year, negative natural growth was recorded in 17 municipalities in Montenegro and positive in seven municipalities.
The largest positive increase was recorded in Podgorica, followed by Budva, Tivat, Rozaje, Tuzi, Plava, Ulcinj.
The largest negative natural increase was recorded in Pljevlja.
