The Russian government’s suspension of the agreement on preferential processing of foreign passports for trips by Hungarian citizens to Russia was a response to a similar decision by the Hungarian authorities on March 2, the press service reported on the information portal legal.
It is reported that now for diplomatic and official trips to Russia, citizens of Hungary will have to apply for a visa in a general way, and not, as before, according to the agreement between the countries that regulate these issues.
“Suspend the agreement as regards Hungarian citizens with diplomatic passports”the document says.
It is clarified that this state of affairs will now exist until a change in the position of Budapest, or until the expiration of the agreement governing the visa-free regime between Russia and Hungary.
Recall that on June 14, 2001, the agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of the Republic of Hungary on visa-free travel in diplomatic and service passports was concluded in Moscow.
