Colombia and Switzerland have strengthened bilateral cooperation in the field of innovation and research, diplomats from the two countries said on March 1, the Swiss Federal Department of Economics, Education and Research reported on the official website.
The head of the Federal Secretariat of Economy, Education and Research (EAER), Federal Councilor Parmelin exchanged with the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Colombia, Arturo Luna, about the current priorities of the countries in terms of research and innovation. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen cooperation in these areas.
During a working meeting with Secretary of State Hirayama, Arturo Luna also held talks with representatives of Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Agency and the University of St. Gallen. The university has been designated by the Secretary of State for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) as a leading venue for the Latin American region for 2021-2024 and is tasked with launching research and innovation collaboration tools with partner institutions in the region. The meeting was devoted to the framework conditions of this cooperation.
