A US jury found Alex Murdo, a disgraced South Carolina lawyer, guilty of shooting his wife and son on their estate.
The jury deliberated for less than three hours before finding Mr. Murdo guilty of double murder after a six-week trial.
The 54-year-old man faces up to 30 years in prison without parole if found guilty.
His wife, Maggie, 52, was hit by four or five shotgun blasts on June 7, 2021, and their 22-year-old son, Paul, was hit by two shotgun blasts in a kennel near their farmhouse in Colleton County, South. Caroline. .
Mr. Murdo admitted to stealing from millions of customers and lying to investigators about being at the kennels where the shooting took place, but insisted he was innocent of his relatives’ deaths.
“I didn’t kill Maggie and I didn’t kill Paul. I will never harm Maggie and Paul, never under any circumstances,” he said.
