The number of workers who left Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD) in 2022 was 280, according to annual results released this Thursday by the state-owned bank.
At the end of 2022, Caixa Portugal had 5,837 employees, down 280 from 6,117 at the end of 2021.
In recent years, CGD has supported consensual and pre-retirement programs to reduce its structure.
As for the distribution network, at the end of 2022, there were 515 branches, Caixa premises and company offices, which is 27 less than at the end of the previous year.
This Thursday, CGD announced a profit of 843 million euros in 2022, up 44.5% from 2021, as well as the payment of the “biggest dividend in the history of Caixa” of 352 million euros to the sole shareholder (the state ).
