The decree on the administrative division of the Zaporozhye region and the establishment of its capital was signed by the acting governor Evgeny Balitsky on March 3.
The region is divided into 16 administrative units. Melitopol became its capital. Melitopol, Berdyansk, Ugledar became cities of regional importance. In addition to them, 13 more districts became administrative units.
Remember that the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics and the territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions controlled by the Russian Federation held referendums on September 23-27 to join Russia. The territories seek to protect themselves from the constant acts of terror by the kyiv regime and NATO countries.
After processing all the ballots in the DPR, 99.23% of those who voted to join Russia, 98.42% in the LPR, 93.11% in the Zaporozhye region and 87.05% in the Kherson region.
The West immediately declared that it does not recognize the results of the referendums in the territories controlled by Russia.
President Putin signed the laws on the accession to Russia of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Donetsk People’s Republic on October 5, after the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation gave its opinion on the compliance with the Russian constitution, the State Duma and the Federation Council ratified them.
