In February, Russia earned 46.3% less on gas and oil exports

According to the Russian Ministry of Finance, in February Russia earned about 6.5 billion euros from the export of gas and oil, which is 46.3% less than in the same month last year.

In February, the oil sector contributed 532,100 million rubles (about 6,600 million euros) to the budget for exports and mineral extraction tax, representing an increase of 21.5% compared to the window, according to the Ministry of Finance.

In the same plan, the Russian gas industry provided the treasury with 160 billion rubles (about 1 billion 900 million euros), which is 28.1% more than in January.

In the first two months of the year, Russia earned 946,770 million rubles (about 11,800 million euros) from the export of these hydrocarbons, while in the same period in 2022 it received 1,760 billion rubles (about 22,000 million euros).

The Russian Finance Ministry acknowledged at the beginning of the month that the average price of Russian Urals oil in January and February of this year fell to $49.52 (about $46.61) per barrel compared to the same months in 2022. the beginning of the Russian campaign in Ukraine, when the price was 88.89 dollars (about 83.67 euros) per barrel.

On December 5, the European Union (EU) embargo on oil coming from Russia by sea came into effect, coinciding with the introduction of a maximum price of $60 (about 56.48 euros) per barrel by the EU, the G7 and Australia. Russian crude oil.

In addition, on February 5, the EU, G7 and Australia also began to apply maximum prices for Russian oil products, such as $100 (about EUR 94.13) per barrel for diesel and $40 (about EUR 37.65) per barrel. for other derivatives.
