Last Thursday, the GNR arrested two men aged 26 and 29 for drug trafficking in Fernand Ferro, Seixal.
The GNR said in a statement that they were able to identify and locate two suspects as part of an investigation into vehicle thefts in the Sintra and Cabo da Roca regions that lasted about a year.
“We are investigating a case of qualified theft inside vehicles,” where “one person is in preventive detention and the other is under house arrest,” Capt. Fernando Silva, commander of the GNR Territorial Detachment in Sintra, told Lusa.
Last Thursday, as part of the ongoing investigation, “it is necessary to conduct a search in the house of a person under house arrest,” the commander said.
And it was in this room that “two men were also found and arrested red-handed for drug dealing,” he stressed.
During a search of the house, the GNR seized 1,679 doses of hashish, sound and photographic equipment, clothing, three knives, two daggers, brass knuckles, and 490 euros in cash.
The detainees were made defendants and left free with the condition of identification and residence, and the facts were transferred to the Sintra Judicial Court, and the case was transferred for further investigation.
