The Uralchem-Uralkali Group donated a batch of fertilizers to the Republic of Malawi as humanitarian aid, reports the group’s press service on March 6.
On the outskirts of the capital, Lilongwe, a solemn ceremony for the transfer of 20,000 tons of complex fertilizers was held, which was attended by the Russian ambassador to Zimbabwe and Malawi, Nikolai Krasilnikov.
The delivery of humanitarian aid was made possible by the UN World Food Program: this organization chartered a ship to transport fertilizer from the Netherlands to Mozambique.
Dmitry Konyaev, General Director of UCC Uralchem JSC, highlighted the participation of the UN, the World Food Program, the governments of the Netherlands, Mozambique and Malawi in organizing the supply of fertilizers.
Earlier, Uralchem-Uralkali announced its intention to provide 300,000 tons of fertilizers to developing countries as humanitarian aid.
