The memory of the members of the Russian Guard who died in the line of military duty was honored in Buryatia, said the head of the Department of the Russian Guard in the Republic of Buryatia, Police Colonel Sergei Gatilov, on March 7, said the Department.
The commemorative rally was held at the territorial administration of the law enforcement agency and special forces units. The participants honored the memory of the deceased with a minute of silence and placed garlands at the foot of the memorials as a symbol of eternal memory in gratitude for the service.
“Today, we all remember once again 28 of our colleagues, those who died in the line of duty and military service while protecting civilians and confronting criminals. We express our gratitude and condolences to their families.”Gatilov pointed out.
Remember that March 6 is the Day of Remembrance of servicemen who died in the line of duty to protect the constitutional order of the Russian Federation. On March 6, 1996, during the attack of militants in Grozny, 24 servicemen from the internal troops of the Eastern District were killed in fierce battles.
