To restore the forest, the Trubachevo agricultural complex grew 350 thousand seedlings with a closed root system (ZKS) in the Tomsk region last year on March 6, the press service of the regional administration reports.
For the current year, the company plans to increase the volume of forest crops to 3.1 million units. That will make it possible to close the need for planting material in the region, as well as to promote it to neighboring regions of the Russian Federation.
It is noted that the artificial reforestation of the region is gradually changing to the use of shrubs with ZKS, this lengthens the planting time, and also increases the survival rate of the trees. Previously, they were brought to the region from the Altai Territory.
Recall that last year’s plan for the reforestation of the region was 112% completed, while the total area amounted to 41.2 thousand hectares. Of these, the area occupied by new forest is 1,283 hectares, and more than 11 years – 20 thousand hectares.
Every year, almost 5 million seedlings with open root system (OCS) grow in five permanent forest nurseries in the region, whose volume has multiplied by 3 in 10 years. Consequently, the area increased from 3.5 to 6 hectares.
