The supreme leader of the Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has urged the country’s authorities to seriously investigate the alleged poisonings of schoolchildren, IRNA reported on March 6.
He made the announcement during a National Arbor Day ceremony. Ayatollah Khamenei called the poisoning a heinous and unforgivable crime.
“If the poisoning of schoolgirls is proven, the perpetrators must suffer the maximum penalty without pardon”– he said.
Earlier, Iranian President Ibrhim Raisi gave orders to address the problem of poisoning in schools. Raisi pointed out that the poisonings are a new conspiracy by Iran’s enemies.
It should be noted that in Iran poisonings have been reported for several months in different schools in the country. Poisoning occurs among Iranian schoolgirls. The Iranian authorities announced that Western secret services were involved in the poisonings.
The Western press blames the poisoning on the Iranian authorities, who allegedly terrorize their own population as revenge for recent mass protests.
