The Judicial Police (PJ) of Braga announced on Monday the arrest of a 39-year-old man suspected of setting fire on Saturday morning to an industrial building in Nogueira, where he entered to rob.
Firefighters found the detainee with injuries while extinguishing the fire. The investigating judge will be present this afternoon in the court of Braga to apply enforcement measures.
The fire broke out on Saturday at 8:15 am and destroyed various materials stored outside the warehouse.
“Had it not been for the timely notification of employees of the companies established there and the removal of existing combustible materials, as well as the prompt intervention of the fire department, the entire adjacent shopping complex, consisting of several pavilions, would have been at risk,” PJ wrote in a statement.
