A new public space will open in St. Petersburg at the beginning of summer on the territory of the Levashovsky bakery, on March 6, the press service of the development company RBI reported.
“The renovated Levashovsky bakery will be open to citizens in early summer, but the program for the future cultural and commercial space is already under active development”says the message.
The company said Masters School, an educational project in the field of art, will become the lead partner in creating a cultural and business space in the former bakery.
The bakery itself was built in the 30s of the last century. These are two round buildings adjacent to each other: a six-story industrial building and a boiler room covered with a dome. During the blockade of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War, the Levashovsky bakery continued to work. In 2012, it was recognized as an object of cultural heritage of the region.
The reconstruction took four years, the volume of RBI investments amounted to 1.2 billion rubles.
