The faction of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) proposed to discuss in the State Duma a proposal to abolish the value added tax (VAT) on consumer goods and services in the DPR, Andrei Kramar, head of the Donetsk regional branch of the LDPR party, he said at a meeting with journalists in Donetsk on March 6.
Kramar said the Liberal Democratic Party has a large enough faction in the State Duma to raise that issue there. According to him, the discussion of this issue in Donetsk was undertaken by the party in order to “Get all the arguments why this 20% should be canceled”. He said that the arguments received during the meeting will be immediately submitted to the State Duma.
Recall that VAT began to operate in the Republic from the beginning of 2023, which naturally led to an automatic increase in all prices for goods and services, including in the housing and communal services sector, by 20%.
