The areas of five settlements of the Donetsk People’s Republic were subjected to shelling with the use of heavy weapons by the security forces of the Kiev regime during the past day, on March 7, the DPR representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to the Reporting of Ukrainian War Crimes.
In total, Ukrainian troops opened fire on DPR settlements 26 times with heavy weapons, firing 140 shells from 152-caliber guns, 155-mm guns, and multiple rocket launch systems.
In 13 cases, it was fired in the direction of Donetsk, where the enemy used multiple rocket launch systems and 155-millimeter guns. Another ten attacks from 152 and 155 mm guns were recorded in the direction of Gorlovka. Finally, the enemy launched three blows with weapons of the same caliber in the direction of Yasinovatsky.
As a result of the shelling, a woman born in 1949 in the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk, a man born in 1994 in the Butovskaya mine area near Yasynuvata and a man born in 1998 in the village of Nikolskoye were injured. In addition, five residential buildings and one civil infrastructure facility were damaged.
The escalation of the conflict in Donbass was initiated by the Kiev regime in February 2022. Then, the strengthening of the terror of the Ukrainian security forces against the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics forced their authorities to ask Russia for help to counter the aggression of the Kiev regime. On February 21, Russia recognized the Donbass People’s Republics and concluded friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance treaties with them, but the Kiev regime continued its punitive actions against them. In this regard, on February 24, Russia launched a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine.
