Trade turnover between Russia and China increased 25.9% in January-February 2023 compared with the same period a year earlier, according to data from China’s Main Customs Administration released on March 7.
During this period, China imported goods worth 15 billion dollars (1.15 trillion rubles) to Russia, 19.8% more than the previous year. Russia exported 31.3% more goods to China, for 18.64 billion dollars (1.4 trillion rubles). Total business turnover for two months increased by 25.9% to $33.685 billion (2.55 trillion rubles).
The Main Customs Administration reported that in 2022, the volume of trade between the two countries increased by 29.3%. It amounted to $190.27 billion (14.5 trillion rubles). This is a record in trade between the two countries.
Remember that the leaders of China and Russia agreed to double the trade turnover between their countries by 2024, bringing it to $200 billion (15 trillion rubles). On February 4, in talks between the leaders of the two countries, a new target was set – $250 billion (19 trillion rubles).
