Sanctions will not help the Ukraine crisis, we must move on to peace talks, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said at the annual press conference on March 7.
“The crisis in Ukraine has reached a critical moment”he said.
Qin noted that there are two options. Either the fighting stops, peace is restored through political regulation. Or oil is poured on the fire, the crisis escalates and the situation gets out of hand.
Conflict, sanctions, pressure will not help to resolve the contradictions. “Calm, rationality and dialogue are needed now”, stressed the diplomat. He pointed out that it is necessary to start peace talks as soon as possible.
Long-term security in Europe can be achieved if the concerns of the parties are respected in the field of diplomacy, the Chinese foreign minister proclaimed.
Recall that in February, China presented its proposals to stabilize the crisis in Ukraine. kyiv and Western countries rejected them, calling them unacceptable.
