The original Angry Birds video game may return to the Google Play mobile platform in the future, or be removed from the App Store platform, according to the Finnish company Rovio, the Axios portal reports on March 7.
According to vice president of strategy Ben Mattes (Ben Mattes), the classic video game Angry Birds is too popular, so it influences other projects of the company. Users, first of all, find it in stores if they are looking for projects related to Angry Birds. This is largely due to the imperfection of the search engine of a particular platform. However, users mostly download it and do not pay attention to other video games created or published by Rovio, even if they are free projects.
Matthes noted that Rovio is now experimenting with removing Angry Birds from one platform but leaving it on another. Based on the results, it will be clear if the video game will return to Google Play or be removed from the App Store.
Let’s remember that Rovio left the original Angry Birds video game on the App Store platform, renamed it Red’s First Flight, hoping to hide it from search queries. At the same time, on February 23, Angry Birds was completely removed from the Google Play store, which caused a wave of criticism from gamers.
