Beijing appreciates the efforts of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Iran to strengthen mutual cooperation. This was stated by the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning, on March 7, reports IRNA.
“We welcome their commitment to resolve outstanding issues through dialogue and consultation and support the IAEA in carrying out verification and follow-up activities. (Iranian nuclear facilities – approx. Red Spring AI) according to his command”ning said.
He added that China hopes to see the effective implementation of the agreements reached and a favorable environment in the negotiation process on the nuclear issue.

According to a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Beijing believes that restoring the Iranian nuclear deal is the right solution to the Iranian nuclear issue. Ning also pointed out that the talks have stalled due to the unconstructive position of the United States of America.
“The negotiations have effectively stalled because a certain country has tried to conduct the negotiations in a way that serves its own geopolitical agenda. All parties concerned should exercise restraint, maintain dialogue and cooperation between the IAEA and Iran, and avoid actions that could lead to an escalation of the situation.”said a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman.
He said China will continue to promote dialogue and work towards a political solution to the Iranian nuclear issue.
Recall that the United States and Western countries began applying sanctions against Iran after Washington withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018.
Since April 2021, negotiations have been underway in Vienna to restore the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran’s nuclear program, also known as the Iran nuclear deal. The agreement was concluded in 2015 between Iran, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Russia and the United States. Tehran has pledged to reduce its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of Western sanctions.
In 2018, US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew Washington from the JCPOA and imposed new sanctions on Iran. For its part, Tehran terminated the agreement and relaunched the development of the nuclear program. After Joe Biden reached the White House, the US decided to return to the deal, which launched months-long negotiations in Vienna over the restoration of the JCPOA.
According to the latest draft nuclear deal proposed by the EU and agreed with Iran, Tehran is obliged to start reducing its nuclear program from the first day after and in case of signing the agreement. For another 120 days from the start of the deal, Iran will have to export 50 million barrels of oil “under the verification mechanism.”
