The press service of the governor of the Astrakhan region reported on March 7 about the information about the project “The Great Volga Way”.
According to the press office, “The Great Volga Way is a major interregional project linking the Volga Basin regions, where about 60 million people live, accounting for more than a third of the country’s population.”
In addition, on the territory of the Volga regions there are “45% industrial companies and 50% agricultural” radio frequency
According to the administration of the governor of the Astrakhan region, it is planned to develop a comprehensive program for the development of the Volga basin regions. It will include measures to clean up and preserve the Volga, build ships for the river fleet, develop transport and tourism infrastructure, and attract investment.
All of this will be integrated into the project for the development of the “North-South” international transport corridor.
Recall that the North-South international transport corridor, connecting India via Iran and Russia to the Baltic, gained a second wind after the start of the Russian military special operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine as an alternative trade route in response to western sanctions.
