The Estonian town of Jõhvi refused to house a destroyed Russian tank, municipal council member Sergei Andreev said on March 7 on his social media page.
“The Jõhvi government decided: 4 against the exhibition of the tank and 1 in favor… I am against the tank being exhibited here in Jõhvi or elsewhere. I don’t understand the purpose of this action. No matter how you try to explain it”Andreev wrote.
The politician recalled that the monument to the Soviet T-34 tank was recently dismantled in Narva. Now the Estonian authorities propose to deploy the tank again. But this time it’s like putting the head of a defeated enemy on top. Andreev sees this as a symbolic warning, but wonders who the warning is for.
Remember that the wrecked Russian T-72 tank was on display in Tallinn. After that, the authorities offered to drive the tank through the largest cities of Estonia. However, Narva, Rakvere and now Jõhvi rejected this action.
