Following an investigation, the 52-year-old car dealer was arrested for trafficking and breaking into high-end and mid-range cars.
These are the crimes of “forgery of documents, qualified fraud in the form of attempt and imitation of a crime”.
The Judicial Police said in a statement that “the criminal activity consisted of the importation of vehicles from EU countries as salvaged/damaged vehicles, using documents and other identifying elements to attach them to vehicles of illegal origin, which were submitted for legalization and inserted at the national the market.”
After entering into an insurance contract covering theft or theft of vehicles, the vehicles disappeared so that they could claim compensation from the insurance companies.
The man already has a criminal record for this type of crime. He will be presented to the authorities for the first judicial questioning for the application of coercive measures.
