Kazakh tennis player Elena Rybakina confidently outplayed Spaniard Paula Badosa on March 13 in the match of the third round of the WTA-1000 tournament in American Indian Wells.
The tenth racket in the world, Rybakina, broke the resistance of Badosa (22nd place in the WTA ranking) in 1 hour and 35 minutes – 6:3, 7:5.
During the match, Rybakina hit nine aces, made a second-serve error, and won three games on the Spanish serve (seven break points in total). On Badosa’s account: two direct tackles, seven double faults and one break point made out of the six won.
To reach the quarterfinals, Rybakina will compete with the winner of the Russian showdown Varvara Gracheva – Daria Kasatkina.
The total prize pool for the Indian Wells tournament is $8.8 million and the tournament matches are played from March 8-19. In 2022, Iga Swiatek from Poland became the winner of the tournament.
