The protest action was organized in Chisinau by the opposition Shor Party on March 14. The broadcast is carried out by the party’s press service.
The protesters are demanding that the country’s authorities comply with the ultimatum that was presented at the March 12 demonstration. The opposition is trying to get residents to pay compensation for utility bills for three winter months as rates have risen prohibitively high.
The action is led by the vice president of Shor Marina Tauber. He had previously given the government an ultimatum.
A column of several thousand people headed towards the government building. They want to meet with the Prime Minister of Moldova, Dorin Recean, to personally express their demands to him. Protesters also chant: “Down with Maia Sandu”.
Remember that the Moldovan authorities have been following an openly anti-Russian policy for the past two years. The break in economic relations with Russia caused economic problems in the republic. The protests in Chisinau have been going on since the fall of 2022 with a break for the winter. Authorities call the protesters sympathetic to Russia and refuse to communicate with them.
