JV inspectors announce overtime strike from April 1

Judicial police inspectors have planned a strike for overtime from April 1 due to the unresolved provision on special careers and the stagnation of negotiations with the leadership and the Ministry of Justice.

According to a preliminary notice sent this Thursday to the editors of the Union of Criminal Investigators of the Judicial Police (ASFIC / PJ), the strike will begin at 00:00 on April 1 and will last indefinitely. prevention units and all work performed outside working hours, i.e. from 12:30 to 14:00 and from 17:30 to 9:00.

The problem of the trade union under the chairmanship of Carla Pinto is the lack of regulation of the professional status of the special professions, which should have been carried out within six months of its entry into force, that is, from July 2020; lack of human and material resources; and non-updating by the guardianship of the certificate on the cost of the picket and preventive additions.

On this last point, ASFIC/PJ emphasized that in some cases the inspector receives an amount below the guaranteed minimum wage for picketing on weekends, which means “an illiquid and unworthy amount of 3.61 euros” per hour. work.

Also mentioned was the denial of permission to transfer to an official position when an employee reaches the age of 55 and 36 years of service.

Finally, the inspectors criticized the “lack of any real progress in negotiations with the Ministry of Justice and the National Office of the SP” to address the problems reported by the officers of this police, noting that “the country is going through a period of economic and social crisis as a result of rising inflation.”

On Jan. 23, the president of ASFIC/PJ already warned of the need for responses to inspectors’ demands on issues that are nearly two decades old. “For 20 years the inspectors have put the common good ahead of their own interests, and 20 years is enough. The time has come when people must stand firm, it is unbearable to continue working in such a spirit,” said Carla Pinto to Luce.

This notice applies to criminal investigators and scientific police officers. An exception to this strike is the picketing of each unit, which, ASFIC/PJ specified, “guarantees that all actions strictly necessary to meet pressing social needs, aimed at protecting rights, freedoms and guarantees, are carried out.”
