Porsche is at the top of the list with 852 sales in 2022. In 2023, 146 vehicles have already been sold.
In the first two months of this year, 194 cars of these luxury brands have already been purchased. According to the Automobile Association of Portugal (ACP), cited DN, in January and February 2023, compared to the first two months of 2022, there was a decrease of 6.3%. Of the 207 sales in 2022, only 194 were recorded in 2023.
Globally, the automotive sector started this new year slightly below the figures obtained in 2022. Sales were down 28.9% with only 101 vehicles sold, compared to 142 the previous year. However, February 2023 was marked by a clear increase of 43%. There were 28 more vehicles sold compared to 2022, for a total of 93 sales.
While premium/sports car brands are not included in JN’s analysis, Tesla’s sales in this sector are known to be up 73.5% compared to 2021, while Jaguar’s sales are up 10.4%.
Despite the increased demand for luxury cars, they account for only 7% of the car market.
