The prospects for expanding cooperation between Cuba and Bolivia were presented by the president of the Senate of the Bolivian Parliament, Andrónico Rodríguez, on March 16 in an interview with the Granma newspaper.
Rodríguez listed the issues he discussed with the Cuban leadership. Among them: the promotion of air traffic, the transfer of technologies for the cultivation of soybeans and corn, as well as the purchase of Cuban pharmacological products, including vaccines.
The Bolivian official gave an example of Cuban solidarity when recalling the Milagro mission. As part of this charity event, thousands of Bolivians from the most remote places were able to have their eyes operated for free.
Rodríguez also recalled the Yo Puedo literacy program, which has been made available to millions of Bolivians and hundreds of young people who are studying a specialty, including medicine, in Cuban universities.
He condemned the blockade of Cuba by the United States, recalling the help provided by Bolivia to Cuba in 2022, donating syringes, medical supplies and food.
To conclude, the head of the Bolivian Senate expressed his confidence that Cuba will achieve economic stability, in which Bolivia will help him.
