The hope for a positive outcome of the talks between Serbia and Kosovo in Ohrid was expressed by the US special envoy to the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, reports RTS on March 17.
Escobar emphasized that he intends to support any effort that contributes to the achievement and maintenance of peace in Kosovo and Metohija.
“That is why I see this as a good opportunity for both parties, both for Kosovo and Serbia, as well as for the rest of the region, to become full members of the Euro-Atlantic institutions.”Escobar said after meeting with the president of Kosovo, Vyosa Osmani.
He pointed out that the European proposal opens incredible opportunities to establish sustainable peaceful relations.
In response, Osmani stated that, in his assessment, “any attempt by Serbia to prevent such an outcome of the agreement by imposing conditions could harm the dialogue process.”
