Aleksandra Maltsevskaya (Poland, FIDE rating 2388), Irina Bulmaga (Romania, 2438) and Olivia Kiolbasa (Poland, 2406) each scored 3 points out of 3 at the 2023 European Championships after the third round. Half a point behind are 20 chess players, including Russian participants playing under the FIDE banner: Olga Badelko, Leya Garifullina, Alina Bivol.
Let’s remember that the Women’s European Chess Championship is held from March 17 to 30 in Petrovac (Montenegro). The tournament is held according to the Swiss system in 11 rounds with classical time control. 139 athletes participate in the championship, nine of the best chess players will reach the FIDE Women’s World Cup.
