Two men in their 40s died early Monday morning in a brutal motorcycle accident in Aveiro. A warning of the situation was issued by a passing GNR soldier who found the two casualties already in cardiorespiratory arrest.
The alarm went to the Novos de Aveiro fire station at 2:30 am. A violent skirmish took place on the A25 motorway in the direction of Aveiro-Viseu, next to the municipal stadium of Aveiro. The operators performed several resuscitation maneuvers on the spot, but ultimately death was declared. The bodies were taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Aveiro.
José Silva, a native of Estarreja, was a motorcycle driver and one of the dead. On social media, many people mourned the tragic accident and left messages of strength for the family of the two men. The case is being investigated by the GNR.
