TikTok and Telegram do not recommend the use of the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and Public Security by its officials on official devices for security purposes, the department’s press service reports on March 21.
Thus, on March 20, the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Emilia Enger Mehl, received an evaluation of the security of these applications.
“The FDA believes that TikTok or Telegram should not be installed on government employee work devices that are connected to the organization’s internal digital services or infrastructure.”the document says.
It is reported that the recommendation should also apply to private sector employees who are fully or partially subject to the security law.
Mehl supports the agency’s recommendation, the agency said.
In cases of need for TikTok or Telegram, NSM management recommends installing and using the application on a separate device designed for such purposes.
