The President of the Republic stressed this Wednesday the need to raise awareness of the global water crisis and the worsening structural situation of water scarcity in a note on World Water Day.
In a note published on the website of the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa also emphasizes the importance of accelerating the achievement of the Decade of Water Goals “through concrete actions” in order to effectively manage and use it. “waste reduction and recycling and the use of alternative sources”.
On the day that World Water Day is celebrated and the United Nations Water Conference begins, the President of the Republic also convenes legislators and the executive, local governments, as well as all citizens, economic agents, academia, civil society organizations and public administration, to join the commitment accelerate the achievement of the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Portugal.
