The meeting of the head of Kalmykia Batu Khasikov and the president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, took place on March 20 at the Palace of Independence in Minsk, the press service of the head of the republic reported on March 22.
At the meeting, the leaders discussed issues of further cooperation in the fields of agriculture, construction, sports, tourism and trade.
Khasikov and Lukashenko noted that Kalmykia and Belarus already have a solid foundation for the development of bilateral relations.
The leaders of the republics expressed their confidence that a real economic breakthrough is yet to come in the bilateral partnership, it is necessary to work on strengthening industrial cooperation, move to long-term contracts, for example, the creation of a trading house Belarusian in Kalmykia. .
It was also planned to hold a meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Kalmykia and sign agreements on the implementation of joint cultural initiatives.
