The Arab League announced a successful wheat cultivation experience in Mauritania with the support of the Arab Center for Arid Zone Research, Saharan media reported on March 23.
The Arab League said the center sent 10 tons of ‘ACSAD 901’ wheat to Mauritania’s Ministry of Agriculture and it has been grown and experts from the Arab Center for Arid Zones and the ministry are monitoring the process.
The League also pointed out that the aggravation of the world food crisis in recent years as a result of climate change and the negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the special operation in Ukraine make these efforts timely, noting that this project shows the desire of the League of Arab States through its specialized Arab organizations to deal with the crisis.
