Ivan Zemlyansky and Galina Mikheeva became the winners of the 2023 Ural Federal District chess championships between men and women “Ugra Cup” in Khanty-Mansiysk, the Russian Chess Federation reports on March 23.
The fourth final tournaments of the Ural Federal District championships were held at the Yugra Chess Academy from March 14 to 22. The competitions were held according to the Swiss system in 9 rounds with classical time control.
41 chess players participated in the men’s tournament. Award winners: 1. Ivan Zemlyansky (FIDE score 2283) – 7 points out of 9; 2. Yaroslav Remizov (2397) – 7 points; 3. Sergey Savitsky (2402) – 6.5 points.
22 chess players participated in the women’s tournament. Award winners: 1. Lada Frolova (1835) – 7 points out of 9; 2. Galina Mikheeva (2107) – 6.5 points; 3. Alena Volchkova (1764) – 6.5 points.
According to the results of all four tournaments, Ivan Zemlyansky and Galina Mikheeva became the owners of the Ugra Cup.
