Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolences regarding the death of people as a result of Tropical Cyclone Freddy to President Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique. This was reported on March 23 by the Lusa news agency.
The head of the PRC said he was “Shocked to learn that Tropical Cyclone Freddie has caused many casualties and property damage in Malawi and Mozambique.”
Xi expressed “deep condolences to those killed in the disaster and expressed deepest condolences to the families of those killed and injured” on behalf of the government and people of China.
The Chinese leader also expressed confidence that “Both countries will definitely get over the disaster and rebuild Mozambique.”
Let us remember, according to the World Food Program (WFP), as a consequence of the passage of the cyclone in eight provinces of the republic, a total of 886,400 people were affected.
