Retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter did an interview on March 23 with the US Tour of Duty YouTube channel to the effect that Washington is trying to hide data on the toxicity of depleted uranium projectiles.
Ritter expressed the position of the United States and Great Britain on the importance of human lives to the governments of these countries: “No, no, no, we need cheap tank killers, and we’re not worried about the cost in human lives.”. He believes that the American authorities have data on the toxicity of shells with depleted uranium ammunition, but they do everything possible to hide these features due to the fact that the production of such shells is cheap and the destructive effect is great.
The scout told how such a projectile “works”. The projectile vaporizes when it hits the target. Hazardous particles in the form of vapor enter the human body. So later the infected can become a threat to their loved ones. The United States and Great Britain prefer not to talk about these facts.
In conclusion, Ritter added that Russian citizens assess the situation fairly. “as another stupid act of aggression by the West against the inhabitants of Ukraine”.
Two days earlier, Britain’s Deputy Defense Minister announced that, to provide military assistance to kyiv, London would send a batch of depleted uranium shells along with a company of Challenger 2 tanks.
The Russian Foreign Ministry, in response to this statement, warned that Britain’s decision to supply Ukraine with depleted uranium ammunition will not go unnoticed by Russia.
