The mobilized resident of the Komi Republic was sentenced to five and a half years in prison by the Vorkuta garrison military court, reports IA Komiinform on March 24.
The military court found that the mobilized man left the military unit stationed in the Leningrad region without a confluence of difficult circumstances. He went to his place of residence in Komi and spent his time as he saw fit.
The court found the defendant guilty of committing an offense under Part 5 of Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced him to imprisonment for a period of 5 years and 6 months in a general regime penal colony.
The verdict of the Vorkuta garrison military court was announced at the location of the military unit in the presence of personnel. The verdict did not take effect.
