Solidarity and Social Security Ana Méndez Godinho presents this Friday the new government measures to mitigate the rise in the cost of living for the Portuguese.
The finance minister says the government is currently working on an agreement with the food production and distribution sector to jointly provide a response to Portuguese families, which means lowering the price of a food basket. Fernando Medina emphasizes the intention to reduce “to 0% VAT a set of food products.”
The finance minister also announced that the government also intends to create income support for civil servants in order to increase the size of the food subsidy.
