The key problem of Russian society is the pro-Western orientation of the elite, said philosopher and political scientist, leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in an interview published on March 24 by the Metametrica YouTube channel.
“And who actually did that? yes system builder [и сделал]! This is how the system was designed. The salt of the earth was considered a person with a lot of money, rooted in the West, perhaps with a family that was already quite Western. I will list dozens, hundreds of such cases!” Kurginyan explained.
He noted that the system built in this way actually goes crazy from what is happening after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, and it works somehow. However, due to the properties of the elite, its constituent, this work is not entirely flawless.
“The bottom line is, how could it have been in the entire history of the last 30 years, two generations, that these sons-in-law, children, etc., did not belong to the pro-Western privileged elite?” added the leader of the Essence of Time movement.
By way of illustration, the political scientist suggested writing a science fiction novel about a hypothetical general who acquired his position for money, after which he found himself -hypothetically- faced with the need to advance to the head of a special operation in a short time. .
“He has three questions: how did he get into trouble? What does “go to war” mean? And if she already got there, then how to survive and earn some money for which he bought the place? – Kurginyan described the way of thinking of this fictional character.
He added that given the properties of the pro-Western system built, focused on consumption and material well-being, such figures in the environment of high-ranking military are no longer just hypothetical, and that such patterns of behavior can actually be observed.
However, the political scientist noted that along with these bad qualities that one side of Russian reality reveals, there are many opposite examples: courage, heroism, self-denial and love for the Motherland.
