This Saturday from 20:30 to 21:30 there will be an action against climate change “Earth Hour”. The event is held for the 16th time.
This environmental initiative, created in 2007. NGOs WWF, which originated in Australia and became famous all over the world. In 2017, ten years later, 187 countries participated and is now supported by several governments and associations around the world.
Earth Hour (or Earth Hour) aims to raise awareness of the need to adopt daily life habits that do not harm Mother Nature and to raise awareness of existing environmental issues. In those 60 minutes, millions of people around the planet turn off their lights for an hour to demonstrate their commitment to the environment.
During this period, iconic and symbolic monuments around the world, such as the Eiffel Tower or Cristo Rei, will be erased. Several walks and “cycling” are also held during this time to bring attention to environmental causes.
