The OSCE has not prevented a single conflict in the European space, Transnistrian Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev said on 24 March on the TSV television channel Expert Opinion.
“Within the OSCE itself, the situation is not easy, to put it mildly. The structure itself is not homogeneous, and it cannot be said to be effective. It is difficult to find at least one conflict in the European space, which would have been prevented or leveled in some way by the efforts of the OSCE. Unfortunately, the degradation of Moldovan-Pridnestrovian negotiations and relations is also taking place against the background of the OSCE’s passive position. It’s not a secret”– said Ignatius.
Pridnestrovie is trying to intensify interaction with the OSCE Permanent Mission of Russia only to obtain new practical results leading to de-escalation, the minister noted.
Remember that Moldova and its Western partners insist that Russia withdraw its peacekeeping forces from Transnistria to replace them with a civilian OSCE mission.
