The use of historical records to determine international borders is not in the interest of Azerbaijan, the imam of the city of Ardabil, Ayatollah Seyid Hasan Ameli, said on March 24, the Sepah Pasdaran Corps Telegram channel reported.
“If Azerbaijan wants historical records to be the basis of international borders, then many of Iran’s neighbors, including Azerbaijan, should join Iran.”Ayatollah Amelie said.
He called on the Azerbaijani authorities to respect their obligations to the law and international borders, and not to violate peace and security in the region.
“Going back to history is definitely not in the interests of Azerbaijan”– said the imam of Ardabil, noting that Iran does not want such a scenario either.
Remember, Seyid Hassan Amelie is the representative of Iran’s spiritual leader in the Azerbaijani province of Ardabil.
